Afghanistan Crisis and the Region: Civil Society Perspectives

The Pakistan India People’s Forum for Peace and Democracy (PIPFPD) invites you to the online discussion on “Afghanistan Crisis and the Region: Civil Society Perspectives” on October 4, 2021, from 6:30 p.m. (IST), 6.00 p.m. (PST), and 5.30 p.m. (AST).

The panel comprises the region’s courageous civil society and human rights defenders and activists, the region’s diaspora, journalists, and scholars, who will take the conversation beyond competitive nationalism and jingoism to foster an understanding of the Afghanistan crisis that foregrounds the lived experiences and struggles of common people, including women and children. Eminent lawyer and co-founder of HRCP  and WAF, Hina Jilani (Lahore), will moderate the panel consisting of Mahbouba Seraj, Afghan Women Network (Kabul), Judge Najla Ayoubi, Chief of Coalition ‘Everywoman’ (Los Angeles), Afrasiab Khattak, politician and Pashtun human rights activist (Peshawar), Pushpa Pathak,  ex-urban advisor to Afghanistan (Delhi), Jawed Naqvi, journalist and commentator (Delhi).
